Housed within the vibrant Núcleo de Ciencias Sociales y Artes (NACSA) at Universidad Mayor, this group is dedicated to unpacking the pressing questions of our digital era, driving innovation, and shaping the ethical frameworks of tomorrow.

Our Story
The group “Ética, IA y Desafíos Actuales” was founded in 2024 by Dr. Heber Leal, ex-Director of NACSA, and myself, driven by a shared vision to challenge the unchecked enthusiasm surrounding AI adoption in education and research. Born from a deep, philosophically grounded critique, we are committed to ensuring that the ethical implications of AI are not sidelined. We believe that philosophers must play a pivotal role in shaping how AI technologies are integrated into academia and industry, guiding these innovations with insight, foresight, and ethical rigor. Our mission is to ensure that human values remain central as AI continues to reshape the world.
